How to run the tool

Right-click on “EUW_AdvancedRenamerTool” (in the “Blueprints” folder) and select “Run Editor Utility Widget”.

Overview Tool UI

For all actions in this tool, you will be asked to confirm the changes that will take place in order to make sure you don’t damage your project or change some assets that you don't want to. This tool works only for assets, not for actors.

There are tooltips for most of the buttons/parameters from this tool. They appear after hovering the mouse over a button/parameter and disappear when you move it away from the button/parameter:

!!! It is recommended to fix up the redirectors of the project before using these actions. If you don’t do this, you can break some references. (This can happen with the renaming action from the unreal editor too, it is not specific to this tool).

Disclaimer: Many photos from this documentation contain assets that are not included in the product (the static meshes or materials for example).

These blueprints/tools work only in Editor, not at runtime (play mode)

The Advanced Renamer Tool can help you modify multiple assets simultaneously in various ways and you’ll be able to do this a lot faster than the classical method. The monotonous, boring, and repetitive work will be done by this tool.

It’s extremely easy to use because it has an intuitive, simple, and elegant UI.

There are tooltips for most of the buttons/parameters from this tool. They appear while hovering the mouse over a button and disappear when you move it away from the button.

This tool will save you a lot of time because you’ll be able to modify multiple assets in just a few seconds instead of hours. (For example: renaming more than 100 assets, with just one command)

The Advanced Renamer Tool is created using the Editor Utility Widget (Blueprints), so it can be easily edited to your liking.

To open the Editor Utility Widget (the main tool), right-click on “EUW_AdvancedRenamerTool” (in the “Blueprints” folder) and select “Run Editor Utility Widget”. The tool can be docked anywhere in the editor.
